Amy’s path into medicine began as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy, where she first learned to make fast, accurate clinical decisions under pressure. After completing nursing school, she went on to work in the emergency room and telemetry units, caring for critically ill patients with complex, overlapping conditions. It was there — piecing together comprehensive histories and fragmented symptoms — that she noticed a pattern that would come to define her career: patients kept arriving with a diagnosis but no real answer for what was actually causing it. Standard testing kept falling short.

Her Own Diagnosis Changed Everything

Years before she specialized in tick-borne illness, Amy was a patient herself — misdiagnosed for years before finally identifying the Lyme disease driving her symptoms. That experience wasn’t just difficult; it was formative. It gave her a firsthand understanding of what it feels like to be dismissed, to be told your labs are “normal” while you know something is wrong, and what it actually takes — clinically and personally — to get better. That journey is what led her to become a Nurse Practitioner and dedicate her practice to the patients conventional medicine keeps missing.

Her Focus Today

Amy specializes in infectious disease, with particular expertise in Lyme disease, tick-borne coinfections, and complex chronic illness that hasn’t responded to standard care. She uses advanced diagnostics — including next-generation sequencing and comprehensive tick-borne panels — paired with Supportive Oligonucleotide Therapy (SOT) to identify and treat what standard labs often miss.

Amy’s approach to interstitial cystitis and chronic UTI treatment was shaped directly by training under Ruth Kriz, MSN, APRN — a nationally recognized specialist whose protocol combines advanced DNA-based urinary pathogen testing with targeted supplementation to address the root causes of recurrent infection.
